Holland Park is an hour’s walk from the St Martin School of Art premises in Charing Cross. In 1964, Khalil Ibrahim had married Judith Hurzeler, a professional Swiss translator who was studying English in London and being fluent in four languages. When Khalil returned to the new Malaysia in September 1966, Judith stayed on until 1967 and reunited with him in Temerloh, then in Kuala Lumpur, where he was taking a course under Yeoh Jin Leng in Universiti Malaya, before settling for good in Kuala Lumpur, where they bought their house in Petaling Jaya in 1970s.
