Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers offers multiple ways to bid, whether you are joining us in the saleroom, calling in from abroad, or participating online. Our team is on hand to ensure your experience is seamless from registration through to collection.
Registering to Bid
All bidders must register prior to the sale. Registration may be completed online at hbart.com.my, by emailing the registration form, or in person at the auction preview. Please have a valid government-issued photo ID ready. We recommend registering at least 24 hours before the auction.
Bidding in Person
Collect your numbered paddle at the registration desk on the day of the sale. Raise your paddle clearly to place a bid, and the auctioneer will acknowledge it. We recommend attending our auction previews to view the lots and speak with our specialists.
Telephone Bidding
If you are unable to attend in person, a member of our team will call you as your lot approaches and place bids on your behalf in real time. Please arrange telephone bidding at least 24 hours before the sale, as lines are limited.
Absentee Bidding
You can leave a maximum bid with us before the auction. Our team will bid for you during the live sale, up to your limit. If two bids are the same, the one received first will be accepted. You can send your completed absentee bidding form by email or contact us directly for assistance.
Online Bidding
Live online bidding is available through Invaluable, where our sale is listed. To participate, you must first create an account on Invaluable and then submit a request to register to bid in our sale. Once your request is received, our team will review and approve your registration prior to the auction.
