The artist is known for his candid and bold self portraits, using his own image as a lens to examine society and the human condition. Influenced by Caravaggio, he employs dramatic lighting to heighten emotional intensity and create striking visual contrast. A sense of playfulness and theatricality also defines his work, blurring the line between self portraiture and staged narrative. In this striking self portrait, half of his face is painted green, directing attention to his expressive features.
