This work features an open window displaying a fascinating gradient of blue coloured sky in the artist’s perspective. The soft hues depict a scene in the late afternoon where the skies turn slightly dark but there is still a dash of blue left in the atmosphere. This piece allows the viewer to immerse in contemplation through the serene colours.
Khoo won many admirers when he boldly and immediately went full time into art in 1961 after completing his studies at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in Singapore. In 1974, he was awarded the John D. Rockefeller III Fund grant to study at the Pratt Graphic Centre in New York. Khoo is a rare artist with a Retrospective and two mini-Retrospectives.
