Colbert is best known for his distinctive Neo-Pop Surrealism, exemplified by his signature cartoon lobster character clad in an egg suit. In Venice Study, he portrays a cruise ship colliding within the historic city of Venice, transforming it into a scene of heightened spectacle. His work examines the visual language of mass contemporary culture, weaving it into a broader dialogue with art history.
Colbert holds an MA in Philosophy from University of St Andrews and has exhibited widely in museums and galleries worldwide. His first major presentation of large-scale paintings, New Paintings, was held at the Saatchi Gallery in 2017. More recently, his solo exhibition Journey To The Lobster Planet was organised by Whitestone Gallery Singapore. Definitely a rising star poised to streak across the sky towards something bright and marvellous!
