Singer, songwriter and visual artist Dato’ M. Nasir is a prominent figure in the Malaysian music industry, renowned for mentoring numerous artists and for his innovative role in shaping the evolution of modern Malay music. He graduated in Fine Arts from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore, in 1977. His music began gaining widespread recognition following the release of his debut solo album Peminat Seni in 1979, ultimately earning him the title “Sifu” of Malaysian music. In addition to his musical achievements, he is also an accomplished actor. His solo exhibitions include Tanda, and Tanda II at Tapak Galeri in 2015.
