Chong Kok Leng, a Malaysian watercolour artist, is renowned for his vibrant portrayals of animals in their natural surroundings. With meticulous attention to detail, he captures the energy and diversity of wildlife through nuanced tones. In his paintings, creatures like birds and insects – such as butterflies and grasshoppers perch on tree bark, framed by richly green, verdant backgrounds. His paintings reflect a deep attentiveness to nature and an appreciation for its peaceful surroundings. Chong graduated from the Perak Institute of Art in 1997. His first solo exhibition was held in 2001 in Ipoh and another solo in 2008.
