Internationally recognised artist H.H. Lim has exhibited extensively in Italy, including in Florence, Abruzzo, and Rome. His works are held in several museum collections worldwide, including Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) Shanghai. In 2022, he participated in Opera Opera at PalaisPopulaire, Berlin. Lyrical and evocative, this work reflects on the complexities of the contemporary world. By drawing resemblance between the intrinsic codes of the animal ecosystem and those constructed by human society, Lim presents animals that seem to quietly observe the current state of our world. H.H. Lim is one of Malaysia’s high profiled contemporary artists based in Rome since 1976 when he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and featured in major institutional exhibitions and scholarly books. His laurels include the Prague Biennale; Singapore Biennale; Tirana Biennale (2005); Venice Biennale (Cuban Pavilion, 2013; Architectural in 2010; and Malaysian Pavilion, 2019). Yet, little was known about him until he was invited by Datuk Ibrahim Hussein in his first Langkawi International Art Festival in 2000. His solo exhibition The Gaze Of Sleepwalkers was held at Wei Ling Gallery in 2024.
