Description
This piece is among the best of his watercolour works. The eight foreground figures with cloth headdress who are shown hard at work seem to be tugging an invisible diagonal line separating them from four others in the distance near the sea fringes not doing anything. All are half-naked with one on the left seated while another next to him seems to be tugging hard at the net line in the sorting out, after a returning from sea. The various postures and angles create a camaraderie of them working in unison. It’s a tough life for these fishermen who supply fishes and other seafood to the eventual consumers.
