Teng Nee Cheong is a Singaporean painter known for his richly coloured, decorative works that draw influence from Southeast Asian culture and spiritual imagery. He studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, where he was trained in painting and life drawing. Throughout his career, he developed a distinctive visual language, combining Impressionist sensibilities with elegant floral motifs and colour. He exhibited internationally from the 1980s onward and received several awards, including the Singapore Ministry of Culture Special Award (1978). Teng is widely recognised for his still life paintings, with a notable focus on floral subjects. His first solo exhibition Crescent Over The Equator featured still life’s and landscapes, held at Shenn’s gallery in 1992.
