Soon Lai Wai is widely recognised for his lyrical abstract paintings, characterised by elegant brushstrokes. He captures the essence of nature in his canvases, transforming the Malaysian landscape into sophisticated expressions of colour and form. A graduate of the Saito Academy of Design, he has held several solo exhibitions, including Blue & White Through The Years (2025), Born Out of Mud (2020), Sustain (2018), Harmony In Spring (2011), A Joyful Moment 2 (2008), and A Joyful Moment (2007). His paintings are held in both private and corporate collections across the UK, Germany, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the United States, and Japan.
