This is a rare batik painting executed by A.J. Rahman, on a traditional cultural theme Wayang Kulit. In 1946, together with A.B. Ibrahim and Saidin Yahaya, he co-founded the group Tiga Serangkai and established Warna Art Studio in Alor Setar, pioneering the beginnings of art activities in Kedah. A.J. Rahman was also a school teacher alongside his artistic practice.
