In A.J. Rahman’s paintings, village houses nestled within lush, verdant landscapes reflect his deep interest in the natural environment. He transforms these scenes into peaceful renditions of harmony and life. In 1946, together with A.B. Ibrahim and Saidin Yahaya, he co-founded the group Tiga Serangkai and established Warna Art Studio in Alor Setar, pioneering the beginnings of art activities in Kedah. A.J. Rahman was also a school teacher alongside his artistic practice.
