This early work by the artist reflects his interest in sculpture, as he reimagines three-dimensional forms through the expressive language of line. Rather than modelling volume through mass, he translates the qualities of sculpture into a two-dimensional surface, allowing lines to express his thoughts. In this work, the artist presents a striking composition featuring a tiger alongside a mythical beast. Their bodies are articulated through elegant, rhythmic lines that merge at the center of the composition, forming a knot-like structure. The linking of these knots could be read symbolically, evoking the surreal connection between the real and the imagined. Faiz graduated with a MA in Fine Arts and Technology from UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor. He won the Grand Prize of the Nando's Art Initiative in 2011. His solo exhibition Knots was presented by Nando's Malaysia in collaboration with NN Gallery in 2012.
