Chong Chen Chuan excels in painting flowers, birds, fish and insects. In this work, the artist depicts a bird gently perched on a tree branch, expressed with vitality. The expression and gestures of the bird is masterfully captured, surrounded in a natural environment. Working in diverse themes, his paintings combine local subjects executed in the Nanyang style.
Chong Chen Chuan was the president of the Malaysian Calligraphy Association and the Malaysian Ink Painting Association. In 2007, he was invited by the Ministry of Culture of China to hold the Zhong Zhengchuan Ink Painting Exhibition at the Beijing Chinese Painting Academy. His works have been selected by the National Art Museum of Malaysia, the National Guest House of Malaysia, the Chinese Academy of Arts, the Qi Baishi Memorial Hall, the Zhang Daqian Memorial Hall, the Korean Culture and Art Museum, the National Museum of Education in Taiwan, and many countries.
