Angki constantly challenges and re-questions general perceptions in the world of art-photography. Angki lays out the trilogy out of the three subtitles, which are Master’s Degree, Doctoral Degree, and Out of Degree. The artist contemplates on the meaning of knowledge acquired throughout the course of one’s life.
Angki studied in the Modern School of Design, Yogyakarta, in 1993-1994, and furthered his studies at the Indonesian Institute of Art, Yogyakarta, in 1994-1999. He received the Asian Artist Fellowship from the National Museum of Contemporary Art, South Korea, at the Changdong Art Studio in 2005-2006. He has had solos in Kuala Lumpur (Kissing The Methods, Richard Koh Fine Art, 2009), Singapore, Hong Kong and Bali, Indonesia. He was included in the ‘Space and Shadows’ Contemporary Art From Southeast Asia exhibition at the Haus World Cultural House in Berlin in 2005.
