The Sheraton Move in 2020 was a crisis marked by the joined forces of members from BN, Bersatu, PAS and a faction of PKR, which toppled the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government. This period of political instability and turmoil was highlighted through the looming dark clouds over a dystopic cityscape devoid of the presence of light.
Gan Sze Hooi was a finalist of the Asia-Pacific Nokia Art Awards in 1999 and 2000. He took part in international art camps in Aiud, Romania, in 2015 and Athwajan, India, in 2016. He was also featured in the Fusion exhibition involving artists from Malaysia, Bangladesh, India and Nepal at Galeri Seni Mutiara, Penang, in 2015, and the M50: Selamat Hari Malaysia showcase at White Box, MAP Publika, KL. He also took part in the 2018 Art Stage Singapore. In 2014, he held a solo, Revelation Of Jalan Sultan, at Lost Gens space, KL. Gan graduated from the Central Academy of Art, KL, in 2001.
