Tengku Marina is known for her fluid style of layering paints and a remarkable ability to harmonise colours and create distinctive compositions. Marina’s works have since graced the halls of Malaysia’s most prestigious residences, indicating the artist’s slow but steady rise to prominence. This work captures an interior setting against a calming blue background. By using various hues of colour, the elegant and tranquil atmosphere is translated through shades of blue, green, white, and red. A pioneer in the world of contemporary Malaysian Batik, Tengku Marina Ibrahim is well known in the fashion industry as a designer of inspirational and creative prints. A business owner and design director, she has over 25 years of experience as the driving force behind the Pink Jambu brand. Her first solo exhibition “Alive” was held at Pinkguy gallery in 2015, and her second solo exhibition “Morning” was held at the same gallery in 2016. Tengku Marina’s fourth solo exhibition “Garden” was recently held at Pinkguy gallery in 2020.
