Solitude On The Waters illustrates the calm view of a lake embedded within the forest. A young man can be seen paddling through the waters, as a form of transportation. The sentiment of tranquillity and peace is evoked though glimmering light reflected on the lake's surface, together with the surrounding trees, branches, and lush foliage. Harmonious green shades were used to create a range of depth and shadows.
Jayanthi is a Singaporean artist based in Malaysia. With a background in law and after several years practicing as a civil litigator she gave up her career to accompany her diplomat husband on overseas postings. She rekindled a passion in art in Geneva in 2003 with porcelain painting. She was relocated to New York in 2004, and during the 7 years in New York, she gained foundational training and valuable tutelage at the renowned Art Students League of New York and at the National Arts Club and experimented with various mediums. Today, she works mainly with oils and acrylics. Realism, surrealism, classical or contemporary, her paintings seek attention and are inspired by life itself and experiences. Her works tend to be diverse in the subject matter, style and technique but her objective is concentrated: to create paintings with a distinct and bold flavour that offer a moment to pause, inhale and resurface. She has participated in more than 25 exhibitions to date.
