Reverie by definition means a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts for example a daydream. Having said that, the three figures are seen to be sitting rather closely together. However, they are surrounded by an atmospheric environment and seem to be immersed in their own thoughts and dreams. Melissa Lin studied in Academia Minerva, Propedeuse Kunstgeschiedenis, Diploma in Fine Art, Groningen, and the Netherlands. She has lived in the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore and Gabon. Her recent solo show titled First Light at Richard Koh Fine Art revolves around her travels in Gabon. Other exhibitions includes multiple group shows and Artist in Residence in Libreville (Gabon), Rimbun Dahan, Lostgens Kuala Lumpur and House of Matahati. Through her travels, astronomy and cultures inspired her to make her own versatile works.
