In an ancient monastery with beautiful wood carvings, a studious young monk dressed in a maroon robe is portrayed in detail. The young monk reads attentively to honor the teachings of Buddha. Through the subtle rendering of light on the figure, the artist captures the immediacy of the moment, with a strong focus on the act of studying. Zaw Zaw Aung received his education from the School of Fine Art in Yangon.
