Rendered with attention to detail in vibrant colours, this work by Azrul Azrai Mohyi is an arresting visual presentation of a clawed lobster rendered with psychedelic patterns, a nod to Yayoi Kusama's infamous polka dot motif. Azrul Azrai Mohyi graduated with a Degree in Fine Arts from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2013. He has exhibited in art museums and galleries across the country. His work conveys contemporary issues through a pop style, consisting of charcoal drawings and fibreglass works. In 2021, he won the Silver Award in the Established Artist Category at the esteemed 2021 UOB Painting of the Year competition Malaysia. His works were exhibited in Art Expo Malaysia, and at National Art Gallery Malaysia.
