Drawing on a variety of forms combining archaic reptile skeletons and modern transportation, Daud Rahim creates a distinct pictorial arrangement that contemplates issues concerning tradition and modernity. This work contains the Proton Saga, the first car produced in Malaysia. The word Saga is an abbreviation of 'Safety, Achievement, Greatness, and Ability'. Daud’s interest in the intrinsic mechanical structures of the motorbike, automobiles and the skeletal structures of dinosaurs have been widely featured in his works.
Daud Rahim was formally trained as a sculptor. He held his first solo called Ruang at Darling Muse Gallery (now Nadine Fine Art) in 2007 followed up by Jiwa Hidup, using 600 pencils in 200 colours, at the Segaris Art Center in September 2016.
