Kartika Affandi is adored by all. A well-known female Indonesian artist who deserves to be admired. She is the daughter of the revered artist Affandi, and her painting style is very much inspired and influenced by her father. She was hosted by Raja Ahmad to visit Kuala Lumpur and R A Fine Arts. Long Thein Shih's painting of Kartika with a flower in her hair, as is her customary manner, is on display here. The explosion of colors represents her extraordinary abilities and brilliance like no other. Long Thien Shih won a French government scholarship to study art in 1966 and was enrolled in the internationally renowned printmaking studio Atelier 17, founded by William Stanley Hayter, a prominent figure in British Surrealism and Abstract Expressionism. Long was honoured with a retrospective exhibition titled Man Of The Times at National Art Gallery Malaysia in 2014. In 2018, he participated in a group exhibition titled The Art Of Printmaking: Lasting Impressions, which was held at Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery, Kuala Lumpur.
