Maryam Abdullah was one of the women painters who was directly involved in the establishment of the Anak Alam Group in the 1970s. Her works are mostly themed on flowers and nature. It is often imaginative and interesting to look at. In Bermain Menunggu Senja depicts young children playing together. The silhouettes and the background colorways suggested its noon time when young kids usually go out to play with friends.
