A promising young artist, Nik Mohd Hazri’s signature style features enigmatic portraits that capture the raw emotions of his subjects. By using a palette of refined, neutral tones, the artist was able to capture the youthful innocence of childhood, successfully constructing a dreamy atmosphere. The girl, shown looking down, is immersed in her own thoughts which establishes a connection with the viewer. Nik Mohd Hazri obtained a Diploma of Fine Art from Univerisiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Machang, Kelantan, where he studied from 2008 to 2011. He then pursued his Bachelor of Fine Art (Painting) at UiTM, Shah Alam where he graduated in 2014.He has participated in numerous group exhibitions such as Human Being by F Klub at Ken Gallery, Kuala Lumpur (2019); Bintang 5 Volume III, Segaris Art Center, Publika (2018); We Are 5: Artemis Art’s 5th Anniversary Exhibition, Publika (2017). He has also participated in several international art fairs namely Art Kaohsiung, Art Stage Singapore, Art Stage Jakarta, and Art Expo Malaysia etc. He was awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Award, Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts (Hons), UiTM Shah Alam (2014) and the Dean’s List Award for Semesters 3 and 4, Bachelor of Fine Art, UiTM Shah Alam in 2012. A member of the Intuitive Art Group, he was involved with a mural project at Publika alongside other group members.
