Contemporary artist Reynold Dela Cruz incorporates his experiences and memories in to his canvases. Growing up in his hometown allowed him the chance to observe people from diverse backgrounds. Siksikan (Crowded) Series documents the suffocating journeys of long-suffering travellers as they endure the travails of the public transport system. A self-taught artist, Reynold gained attention when he won the Juror's Choice in the Philip Morris Asean Art Awards final held in Vietnam in 1998 (Malaysia's Kow Leong Kiang won the Grand Prize). He was also a Juror's Choice in the Letray Figuras organised by the Instituto Cervantes in 1999, and a finalist in the GSIS National competition in 2009. He was selected as one of the exhibiting artists for Nord Art 2026, one of Europe's largest contemporary art exhibitions held in Budelsdorf, Germany. His recent solo exhibitions were "KO-MIX" at the Museo ng Muntinlupa (2024), and "Theater Of The Absurd" at the Atelier Hamman in Germany (2022).
