Inspired by the art of cartoons, Wan Amy Nazira is well known for her distinctive style of portraying figures particularly female. Pewit is an expression used when someone is cat calling a lady that is casually passing by. This work features a fancy dressed lady smitten by the attention that she’s been getting while she winks seductively. With flowery scarves, braided hair, lacy sleeves, multiple handbags and gold bangles, it looks like the lady just came back from a joyful day of shopping. Wan Amy Nazira received her Bachelor (Hons) Fine Art Majoring in Painting at UiTM Shah Alam Selangor in 2015. Amy Nazira has been participating in numerous group exhibitions including Sketsa Alam, Melaka River Pirate Park (2012), Muda Mudi at Segaris Art Center (2016), Art Expo Malaysia with G13 Gallery (2017), Enthrall exhibition at The Art People Gallery, Klang; Galeri Prima and Curate Henry Butcher (2018).
