Chin Kon Yit had produced a series of oil paintings based on still life. Kon Yit's work has been shown in ten solo exhibitions in Kuala Lumpur, and numerous joint exhibitions both locally and internationally. His paintings are widely collected by private and corporate collectors. His book titled Landmarks Of Malaysia: 360 Paintings by Chin Kon Yit, is an impressive collection of 360 landmarks from every states in the country. He has created several books documenting the architecture of Malaysia. In 1998, he made the Kuala Lumpur Sketchbook, followed by Penang Sketchbook (2001), Landmarks Of Selangor (2003) and Landmarks Of Perak (2006).
