Drawing from multiple visual sources from our everyday lives, Dewa Ngakan Nyoman Suputra specialises in detailed hyperrealist oil paintings. Visually compelling, his paintings span across several subjects, as he is equally adept in various themes ranging from portraiture to still life. Valentine's Day shows the artist's engagement with visual narratives, highlighting the crisp folds on the structure of two origami birds. A dreamy atmosphere indicating romance emerges from the delicate balance of white and cream tones on canvas, as well as light and shadow. On Valentine's Day, the spark of love is ignited, love blooms and prevails. Dewa Ngakan Nyoman Suputra received his education at STSI Denpasar (1996-2001). His solo exhibitions were held at Griya Santrian Gallery (2008), and Elcanna Gallery Jakarta (2009).
