The artist depicts the art of parasol making, crafted with natural bamboo material. The Burmese parasol is known for its unique design which features tassels at the end of the ribs. Maung Maung Thike is a Burmese painter, illustrator, and cartoonist. His first solo was held at the Inya Lake Hotel in 1991, and his second solo "Woman" was held in 2005, at the New York University Art Gallery. His third solo exhibition was held at Gallery 65 in 2013.
