Rafiee Ghani translates his travel experiences into visual form through a rich interplay of vibrant colors, dynamic shapes, and intricate mark-making. His brushwork, which ranges from delicate, lyrical lines to bold, organic gestures, animates each canvas with a sense of movement and rhythm. This artwork is testament to the artist's instinctive talent for composing dynamic images through confident strokes. Intriguing botanical elements and floral motifs are incorporated into the scene where dreams and thoughts collide. The overall image gives a sense of clarity, consisting of overlapping forms made of captivating lines that evokes the connection between diverse ideas and culture. Serenity, tranquility, soothing calmness and peaceful atmosphere is well captured. He first pursued his studies at the De Vrije Academie, Voor Beeldende Kunst, The Hague (1980), before completing a Diploma in Printmaking at the Mara Institute of Technology in 1985. He later attained his MA in Fine Prints at Manchester Polytechnic, England, in 1987. Over the course of his career, he has received numerous accolades, including the Minor Award at Salon Malaysia (1991), recognition in the Young Contemporary Artists competition (1984 and 1985), a Juror's Award at the Malaysian chapter of the Philip Morris Asean Art Award (1994), and 2nd Prize in the Malaysian Art Open (1994). Dedicated in the field of education as well as art practice, he taught at ITM and in the Seychelles between 1991 and 1993. In January 2022, he presented a solo exhibition, Overland, jointly organised by Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers and Galeri Prima, Kuala Lumpur. His solo exhibition titled Rafiee Ghani In Morocco was held in 2025.
