One Sunday Afternoon captures the artist’s passion for nature and keen eye for expressing overlapping foliage and ground contours. Painted with a fine balance of varied textures, this work illustrates a splendid view of trees seen from the distant horizon line. The composition evokes a poetic mood emphasising the wide expanse of the terrain. Dato' Tajuddin graduated in Graphic Design at the Art Centre College of Design in Los Angeles, the United States, in 1974. He did his Post-graduate Interior Architecture at the Pratt Institute in New York in 1979-1981. His accolades include the Major Award, National Drawing Competition in 1977; Minor Award, National Graphic Art, National Art Gallery, 1978; Minor Award, Salon Malaysia, 1979; and Minor Award, National Design Council, 1994. He set up TJ Fine Art in 2004. After teaching at the University Mara Institute of Technology for several years, he joined Sunway University as Fine Arts Department Associate Professor and Academic Adviser.
