Description
Carabelle is a multidisciplinary creative practitioner working across art direction, creative direction, painting, visual storytelling, and textile design. Her professional experience spans fashion and luxury brands, campaign productions, and the film industry, where she has contributed as an art director, creative director, and painter. Her practice moves fluidly between commercial and artistic environments, informed by a strong understanding of concept development, visual communication, storytelling, and production.
Alongside her professional practice, Carabelle works across painting, ink art, and textile design, drawing inspiration from historical narratives, cultural fusion, and Eastern aesthetics. Her work brings together traditional visual languages and techniques with a contemporary sensibility, exploring how histories, legends, and cultural encounters can be reinterpreted through image, material, and storytelling.
Her solo exhibition The Land Below The Wind reimagines the legendary 15th century narrative surrounding the Sultan of Malacca and the Ming dynasty Chinese princess Hang Li Po (汉俪寳). Through this body of work, she explores cultural convergence, female strength, identity, and intercultural exchange. The narrative continues to evolve within her ongoing practice, connecting historical memory with contemporary perspectives on culture and identity.
Petals shaped by hands, the chrysanthemum emerges as a quiet testament to resilience. Blooming late in the season, when other flowers begin to fade, it stands as a quiet reminder that beauty can persist through difficult times. Each petal speaks of perseverance: of holding on, rising again, and finding the courage to bloom in its own pace.
